A Verizon Edition of the HTC One is long overdue now though when it comes, it could flaunt a new attractive shade of cool blue. This no doubt will be a nice way to stand out from the crowd. The standard color choice for the HTC One is either black or white. Also, a completely unique color offering will also go a long way in justifying the long delay in offering the HTC flagship device which other carriers have been selling for months now.
Confirmed details of the set however are not yet available. Phone Arena reports Verizon’s inventory system has a new SKU for the HTC One, it being HTC6500LVWBLU. The last three letters are indeed significant, as is an attached description which states ‘HTC One in Blue’.
So far as probable date for release of the device goes, August 15 appears to be the best guess. This comes after the August 1 expected release date went for a dud as it coincided with another high profile smartphone launch, the Moto X. Verizon surely wouldn’t like its HTC One launch being hijacked by the Motorola offering which is a brand new device and hence would command more interest.
The aspect of the colored handset does have relevance since Sprint too has come up with a shade of red in its variant of the HTC One. It therefore makes sense that Verizon needs to make a different and solid impact in case it wants buyers to look at the set from its portals, for the set has already been in the market from other network operators as well as retailers for some time now.
Verizon is also expected to be selling the black and white color variant handset as well.
