Until now, virtual reality has rusted in science fiction books that nobody reads anymore. But things may change forever when it comes to virtually experiencing a new reality.
Great companies, big names in technology started to realize that virtual reality is the next big thing and they are determined to make the best out of it, while VR becomes one of the most constantly explored domains in technology. At the same time, it is one of the least know about areas, with surprises to offer as developers continue their search for astonishing experiences. So, virtual reality is extremely exciting for the experts and also for the technology enthusiasts.
Recently, Facebook has presented its strategy for the future at the F8 Developers Conference. One of the most discussed problems was that of integrating virtual reality technology into Facebook. The social platform has already purchased Oculus Rift and it plans to make the best out if this acquisition. Samsung has also developed a VR Gear. Sony and HTC are also on the list of companies which hope to enter the VR market before their rivals.
Virtual Reality offers a totally new perspective on things. It allows you to go where you never thought you were able to and do thing you never thought you were capable of. Or, at least, it creates a way to make you feel so. As long as you have the headset on, the world changes and a developed VR technology will allow heart stopping experiences. However, after you turn off your VR headset, things go back to normal, the situation is the same as it where when you left. But is it really the same? Now you`ve seen extraordinary things, travelled to dimensions that you have only imagined before, maybe listened to the solemn music of the ocean while lying on the bottom of the sea. It is truly an amazing bundle of opportunities.
VR technology is already used by the U.S. Army. But the gaming industry and also pornography can`t wait to benefit from the features of virtual reality. Television could also be changed forever with this technology. Sport have started to be broadcasted in a format which allows users of the Samsung-designed headset to enjoy every little bit of the images.
It is estimated that by 2017, VR will be huge around the world. The technology was discovered decades ago, but there were not any mainstream field in which it could be integrated until now.
