With a lot of smartphones out there, these are some smartphone units with practical and entertaining party tricks which make them have the edge, and stand out from the crowd.

A Review of Smartphones Having Unusual Features

Almost all smartphones feature similar tricks which leave the users nothing or little to differentiate them from each other either in the hardware aspect or the software side. One may have a more internal or external storage, a better camera and other specs which can help identify the phones from one another. However, they all can do text messages, do social networks, access emails, share photos, stream videos, install apps and surf the web.

These standard characteristics are good because these days, even mid-range units can have the characteristics of high-end ones, either they have for example, shorter battery life or smaller screens. Nowadays, there are smartphones that feature software and hardware aspects that make them unique. Here are some who entice people to give them a second glance.

Motorola Droid Razr Maxx – Real Battery Power

Talking about real batter power, nothing can beat the Droid Razr Maxx HD of Motorola. The 3,300mAh batter can stream video for 13 hours and play it back for almost 14 hours. The outstanding longevity of the Maxx HD per cycle of charging is one of the great reasons to choose the handset that encases it – Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. The smartphone itself has several excellent attributes such as a large screen and a neat Kevlar backing.

Nokia 808 PureView – 41-Megapixel Camera

Smartphone unit manufacturers sometimes produce the handsets with bigger camera sensors in order to give boosts to pictures and images with 13 or 16 megapixels. Nokia 808 PureView is one of these smartphones. It tops the list as a smartphone with a great camera. Its 41-megapixel camera is one that measures up to what is expected.

Nokia Lumia 920 – Wireless Charging and Sensitive Screen

The Nokia Lumia 920 makes wireless charging possible, aside from the normal means of charging through plugging in. It also has a sensitive screen that allows operating the handset with a fingernail or with gloves on. Albeit the Nokia Lumia 920 is not the only smartphone to have wireless charging and sensitive screen, it is the first handset to enter the U.S. which has both.

Droid DNA of HTC is also capable of wireless charging as well as the Nokia Lumia 820 series. Nokia Lumia 822 at Verizon has the touchscreen sensitivity too.

Samsung Galaxy Beam – Smartphone and Projector

It seldom happens that a smartphone would have a projector built into it. Yes, impromptu video sharing for everyone is possible with Samsung’s Galaxy Beam. It has a pico projector that can serve as a flashlight as well. Not only that. The smartphone has an Android operating system, 4-inch screen and a solid 5-megapixel camera. It is a reliable smartphone first and secondly, a party trick.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 – Stylus Functionality

The Galaxy Note 2 of Samsung is a great smartphone that adds a stylus-based functionality and navigation to its big screen. This makes the smartphone very distinctive. Not many handsets use stylus but it did not stop Samsung from using a helping S Pen which makes the big Android 4.1 unit to serve as a smartphone and a virtual note pad at the same time.

Conclusion

With many smartphones around competing to get their share of the market, no wonder attractive features are just increasing each year. No matter how uniform their attributes maybe, there really are handset makers who go beyond the standards and make their units uniquely pleasing. These smartphones give the consumers added value for their money. Consumers can then choose which one to buy that most fits their needs and use.
