The iCloud celebrity photo hack is getting more and more talk, especially since the FBI got involved in the investigations. A while back we discussed about how to set up iCloud photo stream on Windows 8 computer and today we’re going to take a look at some more information regarding the iCloud celebrity photo hack.
The iCloud celebrity photo hack
The entire World Wide Web is focusing on the nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kristen Dunst, Ariana Grande and other celebrities that have been obtained through the hacking of iCloud accounts. But the whole world should be reminded that this wasn’t just a massive nude photo leak, but a massive private information leak, as private text messages, calendars, phone call logs, calendars and even GPS coordinates have been revealed because of this iCloud celebrity photo hack.
Apple confirmed that more than 100 celebrity iCloud accounts were hacked and more than 400 photos have been leaked online.
Nik Cubrilovic is an Australian security researchers who has been investigating this leak and said that most likely the celebrities’ personal information has also been obtained, but not yet made public.
He continued:
There are entire communities and trading networks where the data that is stolen remains private and is rarely shared with the public. The networks are broken down horizontally, with specific people carrying out specific roles, loosely organized across a large number of sites … with most organization and communication taking place in private [via email or instant message programs].
The hacker, if caught, could risk 10 years in prison.
