When Amazon announced its first smartphone, one of the most important aspects we wondered about was how much will it cost. Amazon Fire smartphone is a two-month-old news now but its new price has taken everyone by surprise. The e-commerce giant has reduced the price for their super smartphone from $198 to…99 cents. That’s right. Only $1. Of course, this price applies only with a two-year contract. Nevertheless it’s still a great price considering that in this two-year contract you one year of Amazon Prime membership, plus many other cool features like cloud services.
This super offer is also available in Germany and the UK where you can have the Amazon Fire smartphone fore zero pounds or for one euro, again under contract with Amazon telecom partnership.
The Amazon Fire smartphone was first released in June 2014 and its initial price was $199 if it was bought under a contract of two years with telecom giant AT&T.
This news comes ahead of the announcement of the year, the release of Apple’s latest iPhone we all look forward to “meet”. Of course, Amazon’s most important rivals are Apple and their iPhones and Samsung with their flagship Galaxy S smart mobile device.
Ian Freed, Vice President of Amazon Devices said “With access to all of the Prime content, Mayday, 32GB of memory and free unlimited cloud storage for photos, plus the exclusive Dynamic Perspective and Firefly features, Fire is another example of the value Amazon delivers to customers.”
