Ever since its first presentations and announcements at international meeting or via internet, in reviews by experts or forums where tech enthusiasts debated on the features and utility of the smartwatch developed by tech giant Apple Inc, the so called iWatch made a lot of fuss. The discussion whether this new gadget was going to be the next big thing in technology seems to be settled by Apple, who announced that according to their estimates there won`t be enough smartwatches ready at launch.
On that basis, officials representing Apple Inc. have announced that the American company is fearing that there will not be enough smartwatches to satisfy the demand at the launch which will happen an April 24. The smartwatch had an incredible media success, meaning that almost every daily user of the internet has heard about the new iWatch. Moreover, may of them have already expressed their intention on purchasing the new smartwatch by Apple Inc, which will be the first product to be launched under chief executive officer Tim Cook.
Apple has also added that, in the iitial phase of their smartwatc hitting the stores, the iWatch will only be available for acquisition through online commerce. Even if the official date of the launch is April 24, Apple stated that beginning with this Friday, customers will be able to preorder or preview the new product.
After the results of a survey which aimed at analyzing the customers` interest in purchasing the new smartwatch, which was effectuated in the United States, BMO Capital Markets has modified its initial estimation on how many smartwatches by Apple will be sold until September 2016. Even if before the results of the survey were published, BMO Capital Markets estimated that until September 2016 Apple would sell 55,5 million smartwatches, after the survey the experts announced their new prediction: about 39 million smartwatches would Apple sell until September 2016, they said.
735 people participated to that survey.
Even if the enthusiasm among customers and common people is at high levels, there are some tech experts who analyzed the smartwatch and expressed dissatisfied reviews. The main disadvantages of the smartwatch, they said, were the battery which could not resist for a long time and the performance speed of the watch, which was relatively low and caused its apps to load slowly.
Apple Inc is not the only company to develop wearables. The wearable devices market is an unexplored territory which attracted the interest of big names like Sony and Samsung Electronics.
