AT&T has recently released two new apps that are designed for use when the user is in cold weather conditions. These apps can be used for pleasure and recreation, as well as for day to day living and even assisting in emergency situations.
The two apps are called the winter wake-up app and the winter survival kit app. Both of these apps are available free of charge in the App Store for AT&T phones running an android OS.
The winter wake up app uses the phones internal GPS system to provide the user with pertinent local weather information. This information can be used to set alarms when conditions reach various levels, or even amend alarm times when certain conditions arise. This means that a snowboarder can wake up at the perfect time of the morning, when the snow is soft and fresh, without ever having to worry about the snow melting early. It also means businessmen is Vancouver can wake up in time to scrape the ice from their car during a unforeseen freeze.
The survival kit app stores all emergency information in one place, easily accessible to the user. It also stores emergency policy numbers, such as your health insurance number. If given the amount of gas in a tank, the app can determine how many miles your vehicle can travel. It will also alert a driver to pull over and scrape the ice from an exhaust pipe when needed.
Both of these apps are useful in different arenas, but nonetheless equally useful. If a user is looking to catch the perfect powder or just make sure they get to work on time and in one piece, these apps can help ensure that happens. They are undoubtedly nice apps to get on your phone, and the fact that they don’t cost a dime doesn’t hurt either.
