Although it sounds like a gadget from spy movies and Bond, James Bond would look good with one of these, the famous aerospace manufacturer of airliners, fighter jets and satellites wants to enter the crowded world of cell phone industry. The Chicago based airline company has revealed the first Boeing black Android smartphone as an ultra-secure mobile phone designed and marketed for the U.S security and defense people. Although not many details are known, what is known is that the Boeing smartphone will run on Andorid OS, it’s encrypted with very sensitive data and it features a mode that triggers the phone to self-destruct. For example, if anyone tries to mangle with the phone and opens the device, this will automatically wipe all its data off and the smartphone will not operate anymore.

Becky Yeamans who is the spokeswoman of the giant company, further explained that the Boeing black android smartphone was “Designed to meet the evolving security needs of defense and security customers” and also that “Boeing has released a modular smartphone to enable secure access and exchange of critical data and communications on a trusted mobile device.”

Boeing Black Android Smartphone features

Boeing has posted a video on its website promoting the features of the black smartphone which includes communication via satellite transceivers and also discrete radio channels. The smartphone features biometric sensors and it can track locations.

Boeing has worked for three years on the development of the Black smartphone and it will be larger than an iPhone. It comes with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Other features and specifications of the new Android smartphone are still kept secret and it will probably stay this way.

The company also revealed that the Boeing Black Android smartphone will only be made available to defense security people while the price of it is still unknown.
