China is currently working to become the greatest market when it comes to Apple’s Apps store. App Annie, which takes care of research firm and mobile analytics, has announced that China purchased Apple apps in the 3rd quarter, being evaluated to cost about $1.7 billion. Chinese customers have spent with 15% more money than Americans to buy apps from Apple. Starting with 2010, the US was the country which led the sales in Apple app stores.
Some researches proved that more and more Chinese users tend to buy video games for their smartphone, in particular, those games which allow the multiplayer mode. Users can play against other users, or they could form a group, working together to achieve victory. The second place on the list is occupied by those users who buy apps for video-streaming, like Youku and Tencent Video, or entertainment shows.
In the third quarter of this year, consumers from China had spent five times more money on Apple apps than they did two years ago. Based on the forecast made by App Annie, this profit growth is prone to become even more prosperous. Specialists think that China will become the leader of the largest income growth for absolutely any country until the year 2020.
App Annie did not inform the public about the leading games which are situated at the top of the Chinese market. But what was indeed great news was that Pokemon Go was the blockbuster game spread in the entire world this year. It became a global phenomenon which had thousands of fans around the world.
This game is known to use the augmented reality technology which allows players to capture Pokemons that are interlaced with the reality by using the smartphone’s camera. The authors of the research have stated that Pokemon Go reached a significant amount in sales being valued at $600 million. No other app achieved so much success in such a short period.
This game has a revolutionary AR gameplay which made it very famous. The iconic IP were intriguing enough to persuade users to stick to their smartphones even more. Apple has recently developed two research centers in two big cities in China to support the country. The digital market development in China has constituted a significant factor for Apple.
