Earlier this week, Xbox One gained a new game, which will be added sometime in Spring. This latest addition? The city builder game, Cities: Skylines.
An official announcement on the matter was released this week on the game’s official website. Cities: Skylines confirmed the news. And also offered some additional details about the game and its Xbox edition.
As it is somewhat to be expected, this city builder game variant will be called Cities: Skylines – Xbox One Edition. Basically, the game puts the user in charge of developing the city.
They will have to raise this town from the ground up. Users will see its foundations being set. And then they will have to develop the city whilst also tending to the citizens’ needs.
Cities: Skylines is published by Paradox Interactive. It is developed by Colossal Order and developed in Unity3D. This city builder game is quite a hit with users. Since it was released, it has won its share of awards. And it has also featured on the best-selling management games lists.
Its Xbox one version will reportedly be available with all the usual game options. As such, it will feature the whole “robust” city-simulation gameplay. According to the company’s blog post, it will also be bringing its ‘unique charm”.
The city builder game will be bringing its full, original version to the Xbox One. And it will also be including the ‘After Dark’ expansion. This is a widely popular feature. Through it, the game developers increased the users game activity. More exactly, ‘After Dark’ allows them to design and plan a nightlife set of activities for their cities. And it also allows them to better control the city’s tourist attractions.
Through this latest blog post, Cities: Skylines confirmed its upcoming presence amongst the other Xbox One games. And it also offered some details about the product. More exactly, it presented the city builder game’s main and perhaps most interesting features.
It began by offering a basic outline. As such, it presented the game as the chance of building the city of your dreams. Users will have to plan the road network and, in general, the city’s infrastructure. They will be able to build up the city in whichever way they want.
A user could create an industrial colossus. Or another could be heading towards a quiet, tranquil beach town. Each player can choose their very own path.
Still, players will also be faced with challenging and multi-tiered simulations. As they will be filling the mayor shoes, they will have to constantly balance a few factors. For example, they will have to maintain the city budget whilst also ensuring the residents’ healthcare or security, to state just a few.
The city builder game will also be coming with an extensive local traffic simulations. As such, you as the mayor will have to supply the citizens needs for multiple, useful transportation methods.
Players will also be taking care of the local districts and policies. They can do so as each part of the city can have its own personality. Which will also entail its own set of rules.
And of course, do not forget about the After Dark feature. This will be bringing its own unique day-night cycle. One that will nonetheless have to be managed.
The city builder game, Cities: Skylines should become available on Xbox One sometime in Spring 2017.
