Contact Lenses Containing Microcameras – Google’s Future
Why does Google need contact lenses containing microcameras? Our best guess is that they’re planning to shrink their Google Glass device into one contact lens, which would be pretty amazing. Although we believe that the day Google will launch its Google Glass Contact Lenses is still far, far away, the company appears to be focusing energy and money on this idea.
How would one control the contact lenses containing microcameras, you are wondering? Through a complex system of blinking patters, could be one way that can be achieved; a way which would make the wearers of these devices look pretty weird and in need of medical attention.
The company revealed a few months ago that it had bought a prototype contact lens that monitors glucose levels – an invention created by the company’s Google X Labs, or as some call it, Google’s Area 51. These contact lenses that monitor glucose levels could help millions of diabetics who need to measure their blood sugar by drawing blood.
How are the contact lenses containing microcameras going to help people from a medical standpoint? Well, they could allow the blind the ability to see certain things. Let’s say that a blind person wears the Google’s contact lenses containing microcameras and they’re approaching an obstacle. The camera will analyze the obstacle and the situation, process the information and then send the solution to the wearer and help them avoid the obstacle. That sounds pretty amazing, doesn’t it?
We believe that Google will put the patent of contact lenses containing microcameras to good use and that they’ll implement this technology into their future wearable devices and to be honest, we’re looking forward to that.
