All Overwatch players are waiting without patience for the 25th hero of the game, Doomfist. Until it makes the main game, Blizzard decided to offer a preview of the hero in Overwatch PTR, when it also announced several changes to another four heroes present in the multiplayer shooter.
Unfortunately, Blizzard didn’t reveal an official release date for Doomfist. However, several rumors are meant to make the waiting more bearable, as they indicate the hero will launch with 67 additional cosmetic features, as well as four more items which are to be announced during an unspecified summer event.
Doomfist is still one of the most powerful Overwatch heroes
Doomfist entered the Overwatch PTR last week, and made its great entrance with an origin story video containing many anime-style characteristics. The hero might seem a little peculiar for a shooter, as its fighting style and gameplay features make it look more like a character of a fighting game.
One of the skills Doomfist benefits from is Rocket Punch. This comes with great power, which the developers found a little unbalanced from the other heroes. Therefore, they decided to bring down this force by around 20 percent. Also, they added several other limitations on the hero, in an attempt to avoid making it hard to compete with.
Four other heroes get boosted
Doomfist is still incredibly powerful, so the development team decided to raise the force of four other heroes. These four heroes are Reinhardt, Reaper, McCree, and Zarya. McCree’s Flashbang is now boosted, and prevents enemies from sliding away from it. The Shadow Step of the Reaper is now less noisy, so enemies should have it harder to strike back during a surprise attack.
Reinhardt gets a significant improvement in the speed of his hammer swing, and his weapon also becomes more responsive. In the end, Zarya gets a boost in her Gravitation Surge. You should soon be able to benefit from all these changes, and see how you can handle Doomfist in a fight.
