CES is one of the biggest and most important Consumer Electronics Show in the world. The next edition will take place in Las Vegas from January 6-9 and it will present the latest and the coolest tech devices that are worth showing.
First of all, the CES 2015 space where the show will take place is huge: it covers 1.85 million square feet of floor space. The CES is not just physically big it also presents more than 20,000 products from the most important tech companies in the world.
The first edition of CES took place in 1967 where 17,500 people and in 2013 it gathered more than 150,000. More than 5,000 people who attend at this show are from the media. That is more than double of the media people that go to the Super Bowl.
Some of the most memorable devices have been presented at the CES over the years. For example, in 1970 the VCR was revealed at the show and in 1985 the NES game (Nintendo Entertainment System). Also, in 1988 Tetris was announced and satellite radio was introduced in 2000. In 2001 the first Xbox console was unveiled at the same show.
The CES has encountered some controversies because of the scarcely-dressed women models that present the product. These models are known as “booth babes” and are a sort of hostesses that direct the participants to see the exposed products.
These models have been part of the show since the first edition on 1967 when they were called “CES guides”. They became famous for their lack of clothing during the 1970s.
The tech world is extremely excited for the next edition of the CES 2015 and many are curious to see what products will be announced at the most important tech event of the year. Some are looking to see what controversies the show will create and what products will fail to impress considerably. Some speculate that the CES 2015 that will take place in Las Vegas and will focus more on home automation and wearable devices, as well as on other tech products.
