Are you excited for the upcoming remake of Final Fantasy 7 and the release of the Kingdom Hearts 3? You might have to wait a while until they receive their highly expected launch, as Square Enix revealed the titles will not enter the market too soon.
Square Enix president tells fans they have to wait more for the games
Earlier this year, Square Enix revealed two screenshots which indicated the upcoming release of the two games. However, these screenshots were not a guarantee that the games would hit the shelves in the near future. During a recent presentation, they discussed their financial situation, as well as the next titles they were preparing.
Yosuke Matsuda, the president of Square Enix, admitted that, among the upcoming titles, there were Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy 7 remake, and a Marvel RPG which hadn’t been titled yet. However, fans will have to wait more than they hoped. All these three games are scheduled for the 2018 fiscal year or even beyond, so the actual release might come in around three years.
There might be a slight possibility that the two titles would fall in the current fiscal year, which ends in March 2018. However, all the chances are that their release will come much closer to 2020 than to 2018. This comes as bad news for the fans, who have kept gathering their excitement for the titles since their first announcement.
Dozens of rumors accumulated on the titles
Final Fantasy 7 Remake was first announced at E3 2015 and, since then, was the subject of dozens of rumors. The information was scarce on the title, so fans and critics started making suppositions on possible release dates and other features of the game. They suspected it would feature several parts, since the original game had far too much content to be fitted into a single RPG.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is not as highly discussed as the Final Fantasy remake, but it is still subject to many debates and expectations. Fans might find it hard to wait until the release, but the developers assure them it will be worth it.
