The legendary camera manufacturer Kodak announced that it has been working on an Android smartphone which will be released at the most important tech event around, the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show that will take place in Las Vegas in January.
The camera maker said that the first Kodak smartphone is a collaboration with Bullitt Mobile, an UK company which will build most of the phone’s components. Bullitt Mobile is known for manufacturing CAT-branded devices.
Talking about the collaboration between Kodak and Bullitt Mobile on building the first Kodak smartphone, Bullitt CEO Oliver Schulte said that Kodak is a well respected brand and is known for its impeccable quality and innovation regarding its products. Schulte added that Bullitt Mobile Kodak’s reputation inspired them to create special handsets that will allow users to take beautiful pictures. The users can edit, share, store and print the pictures in an instant with the new Kodak smartphone.
Although Kodak has not disclosed any details about their upcoming Android smartphone’s design and specifications, Kodak said that their new device will bring a “great design and UI.”
Also, Kodak said that the new smartphone will focus on the camera and its imaging capabilities. Some believe that the new Kodak smartphone will include advanced software which will allow friends and family members to provide support and help.
After the first Kodak smartphone there will be another Kodak 4g Android phone will follow, a tablet and a connected camera. Bullitt said that all the products with the Kodak brand will offer the best image management features and software.
The products will appeal to a large audience who are interested in the functionality and the stylish design of their devices. The Kodak products will be targeted to those who look for a high-end experience but also want to keep things uncomplicated.
Kodak has stopped manufacturing digital cameras back in 2012 after filing for bankruptcy. It licensed the name under Sakar International for any Kodak cameras and photo accessories. JK Imaging won the right to use the Kodak name on some of its digital cameras and Seedonk Inc. announced that it will release a Kodak baby monitor next year.
