The game itself is weird, simple and is the type of game that you’ve seen somewhere else. It received massive criticism because of it’s the difficulty of leveling up and its poor graphics. The player controls a pixelated bird and the purpose of the game is to fly it between rows of pipes without the bird touching them. If it touches any of the pipes, it dies and you have to start all over again. As simple as possible, yet at the end of January of this year, it was the most downloaded free game in the Apple App Store.
Flappy Bird Could Come Back
About a month ago, its creator, Dong Nguyen removed his popular mobile game from the App Store and from Google Play, which caused a wave of copycats and also despair among players. In a recent interview with the Rolling Stone magazine, Dong drops little hints that suggested (hold on to your chairs, Flappy Bird addicts) he was going to bring the game back.
He said that Flappy Bird could come back and that he didn’t plan on updating the game in any way except with a warning that will say Please Take a Break. Apparently this was the reason behind him pulling the game off the market, that people became too addicted to the game, which was quite hard for the creator to deal with. The creator himself apparently messed up a lot of tests in high school because of Counter Strike, so when reports came in about teenagers failing in class because of the game, he knew what he had to do.
We hope the news that Flappy Bird could come back is true, though. What are your thoughts on the matter? Would you like Flappy Bird back?
