Ford decided to recall about 52,000 pickup trucks due to some manufacturing glitch. They want to inspect the F-250 pickups being concerned that these vehicles can continue to roll after the driver set the automatic transmission lever into the parking position. Even if the car company claimed that there were not reported any accidents or injuries before they discovered this manufacturing glitch, this is the third recall this week for Ford.

Anyone who owns such a vehicle can verify whether his or her car is affected by the glitch via NHTSA website where they can enter the VIN to find out the result. Based on the data provided by Ford, these pickup trucks are outfitted with a 6.2-liter V8 engine and are developed at Ford’s truck fabric in Louisville, Kentucky. The manufacturing processes started in October 2015, and it was stopped last Friday, on March 31.
Even if the plant is known to manufacture a wide range of Super Duty trucks, Ford argued that the problem is only with their F-250. Apparently, there appeared a glitch in the parking system that seems to be part of the parking pawl assembly, and it can disable the transmission from shifting into parking position when the driver selects this gear and enable the vehicle to roll away if the driver does not pull the parking brake.

If this happens, could lead to accidents and various damages. Nevertheless, this is a brief reminder for every driver that they should engage the parking brake irrespective of the fact that there is a recall or not. The parking detent, the piece of metal responsible for locking place the transmission whenever Park is selected by the driver, was not created to unceasingly support the weight of the vehicle on any major incline.
Earlier this week, Ford announced that they are bound to recall 230,000 Escapes, Fusions, Transit Connects and Fiesta STs due to possible engine fires. Moreover, the car maker had also dismissed 211,000 Lincoln MKZs, Fusions and Fiestas because of latch problems which could have determined doors to open when the car was on the road. This would have led to a series of incidents, and the automaker would have been the one to be blamed. It is better that they decided to recall the vehicles before anyone would have been hurt.
