GemShare App Lets You Share And Receive Useful Recommendations

We all have a favorite pizza place, someone we call when our upstairs neighbor floods our bathroom or a dentist that helped us overcome our terror of going to the dentist. But what do we do when we need to buy fresh flowers or we need to dry clean our clothes without being ruined. We ask our friends for recommendations, obviously. That’s where GemShare app comes in very handy. It helps you ask all your friends at once for advice and recommendations so that you can get them all directly on our phone.

How does GemShare app work? First, you need to log in to it and the app will import your phone address book and connects with other GemShare fans on Gmail or Facebook. Then you are asked to write five Gems recommendation for favorite businesses. You enter the name of the business you’re happy with and the app will find the website, address and everything useful about it. You can also write a short description on why you recommend that particular business so that your friends will know why they should try it.

The GemShare app also lets you ask for recommendation from other users. You need to type a term like “pizza place” or “ plumber” into the app and what exactly you’re looking for (inexpensive, neighborhood, etc) and the app will show you a list of recommendations from your friends and their friends’ friends (if they’re using the GemShare app). You can then tap on the recommendation to see further details, like address, website and to view it on the map.

The GemShare app was cofounded by Maryam Mohit and Claudine Ryan to help store and save recommendations. They said that the idea for the new app came after having conversations with their friends where they were asking stuff like: “Do you know any good…”
