Today, the 15th of April anyone in the US can purchase the sci-fi looking glasses. Previously, whoever was interested in buying the Google Glass had to sign up on a list or through a friend referral. But Google made it easier for gadget lovers and released the Glass for $1,500 for one day only. The news is that Google Glass updates are already on their way including improved battery life and Android Kit Kat support.
Google said that they have been working on significant updates on the Glass software. The device runs on the latest Android OS called Kit Kat. Google stated that the Google Glass updates will bring more reliability and a better battery life. The people who have used the Glass said that the battery life was not the strongest feature and that Google Glass usually ran out of battery before the day ended. So the fact the Google improved the battery life comes as great news for those who didn’t purchase the Glass yet.
Another one of the major Google Glass updates was that Google removed the video calls feature. They said they did it because it didn’t rise up to their high standards of quality and they plan to improve this in the near future. Google didn’t say when this will happen but they said that their people are already working on the video streaming features of the Google Glass.

Google said that the temporary removal of the video streaming features is not something to be missed since only 10% of the people who wear the Glass used video calls. Other Google Glass updates include new photo replies to Google Hangouts and easier ways to send feedback.
