On Thursday, Google unveiled a new feature for Google Home that its rival, Amazon’s Alexa, had implemented in December.
The new feature consists in new music alarms that can be customized by the user. The company unveiled that you can give your Google Home a voice command to “set an alarm for [insert hour] that plays [insert the name of your favorite track].” Google Home currently retails for $129,00 at Best Buy.
What’s more, the Google smart assistant can also make your life easier when it comes to finding your favorite TV shows. With a simple command like “Hey, Google! What channel airs [insert the name of your favorite TV show here]?” the voice assistant will provide the data you are after.
Google Home Has Become Netflix-Friendly
The head of the Google Assistant Product Management, Lilian Rincon, confirmed the changes in a recent blog post.
In addition, Goggle has just made its smart home assistant friendlier toward Netflix. If you happen to binge-watch a lot, you can just tell the assistant to play your favorite TV show on Netflix. The device will pick up the show where you left off. However, the new feature will be available only if you pair the Netflix account to the Google Home app or your phone to the smart assistant.
Moreover, if you are a big fan of Google Play Music, you can access you favorite tunes via voice commands. According to Rincon’s post, you can access the track that you just bought or uploaded by asking Google Home to play a song, or your favorite artist or the album.
