A while back we discussed the major celebrity nude photo leak that happened after iCloud was hacked into and today we’re going to take a look at the recent developments regarding that subject. It appears that Google is threatened with a $100 million lawsuit over hacked celebrity nude pictures.

Is Google to Blame for the Celebrity Nude Pictures Leak?

Google is being threatened with a $100 million lawsuit over the celebrity nude pictures leak. Allegedly, there were privacy violations that took place after the iCloud accounts of more than a dozen Hollywood celebrities were hacked.

Law firm Lavely & Singer is threatening the tech giant with the lawsuit; the firm claimed that it is the legal counsel of many of the female celebrities whose nude photos were splashed all over the internet.

Here is a snippet of the lawyer’s letter about the potential lawsuit:

Although it has been approximately four weeks since we sent our first DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) notice to Google, and well over a dozen additional notices and warnings have been sent to you since then, many of the images are still available on Google’s sites. Rather than be the transgressor, Google should set the example for all other operators and providers. In Google’s own words,’ Don’t be evil.’

Google has yet to respond about this legal complaint, but we’re sure that it will release a statement in the new future. Bad things will always be on the internet and Google does have a safe search that users can switch on and off, so is Google to blame?

What are your thoughts on this matter? Do you think that Google had a say in the way the celebrity nude pictures situation was handled? Drop us a line in the comment section below and tell us what is on your mind.
