Though both the smartphones differ very less in size, visually both the devices are quite different. The HTC One X has curved corners with considerably harder edges and lines due to which you don’t get softer feeling while holding it, unlike the Galaxy S3.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is thinner than the HTC One X. The Galaxy S3 features a 4.8 HD Super AMOLED display, with a high resolution of 720×1280 pixels and ultra-fast response time. The HTC One X possesses 4.7 inches Super IPS LCD2 screen which is identical to the Samsung Galaxy S3. Operating System

Operating system plays vital role in enhancing the worth of any PC or smartphone. Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system supports the Galaxy S3. Additionally, this Android smartphone is powered by Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 processor. It is also loaded with Exynos 4412 Quad chipset. All these features enable this smartphone to function extraordinarily fast and efficiently. The HTC One X is loaded with Android 4.0.4 or Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

Multitasking

It has been experienced by a few users that they cannot do multitasking in the HTC One X which is one of its drawbacks, whereas multitasking can be done in the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Battery

When it comes to battery, there’s a major difference. The Samsung Galaxy S3’s 2100mAh battery is removable, whereas the HTC OneX’s 1,800 mAh battery is non-removable. Some users have observed that the HTC One X’s battery life is better than the Galaxy S3. The former’s NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor extends its battery life by providing better power management. However, experts find the Samsung Galaxy S3’s battery life far better than the One X.

There is only a 3-gm difference between the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X. The Samsung Galaxy S3 weighs 133 g whereas the weight of the HTC One X is 130 g.

Memory

Both the Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X feature 1 GB RAM; however it is up to 2 GB in selected markets in the case of Galaxy S3. One major difference between the HTC One X and the Galaxy S3 is that the former has no removable storage whereas in case of the later, you get up to 64 GB microSDXC removable storage. Though the HTC One X is endowed with 32 GB internal storage, facility for external storage is totally absent.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S3 possesses a 1.9 megapixel front camera and an 8MP rear camera. The HTC OneX has a 1.3 MP front camera, which is meant for video conferencing, and an 8MP auto focus camera along with LED flash. The result of still photography is better with the Galaxy S3. You can capture great images consistently even in difficult light conditions. Galaxy S3’s camera app provides many more options than the standard Android app, and you can use it very easily.

However, in many other aspects related to camera, the HTC One X beats the Galaxy S3. The camera of HTC One X can shoot even in low light. It possesses a speedy 1 second start up and you can even capture photo even while shooting a 1080 HD video which is a special feature.

Conclusion

It is very difficult to compare between the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3. When it comes to performance and speed it is really hard to say which one is better. Both the smartphones perform very well. It may appear that the HTC One X would be faster owing to its 1.5GHz quad-core processor, but when you use both the smartphones, it would be very difficult for you to find the difference in speed. However, if you are looking for better camera features, the HTC One X would be better. But if you need more storage capacity, a soft feeling and a long battery life, you should prefer the Galaxy S3.

In a nutshell, both the smartphones are equally good. While the Galaxy S3 is weak in a few features, some of its features are better than the HTC One X. Both are among the finest Android smartphones ever made. So it is up to you to make your decision based on your requirements; whether you pick the Samsung Galaxy S3 or the HTC One X, you will be happy and contended with the experience.
