HTC’s much talked about M7 is now going to be called HTC One, if reports are to be believed. The much awaited phone will be officially launched on February 19. This phone is going to come loaded with a 4.7 inch FHD screen and 468 ppi pixel density. With these features it may not see the same misfortune as earlier HTC phones- HTC One X and HTC One X+.
HTC has been eclipsed with cheap Chinese Phone companies like Huawei, Lenovo and ZTE. Even Samsung phones overshadowed the Taiwanese phone although the HTC DROID DNA and HTC Butterfly did show some promise. Now it seems as though things will improve for HTC. HTC and Samsung are going to be on a war path this year.
The race for the top place is going to be between Samsung Galaxy 4 and HTC One. Last year HTC One X came jazzed up in an aluminium cover with an LCD display and a superb camera. This Android phone was no match to Samsung Galaxy S3 which followed a few months later. The Samsung phone over took the market with astounding sales and went up the ladder occupying the same rung as the iPhone.
HTC must have learnt some lessons in marketing strategies and innovation from Samsung. When the war begins between HTC one and Samsung Galaxy 4, will HTC manage a coup? The phones are coming out with similar features which makes it difficult to predict which phone will do better. Both will have more pixels per inch, 1080p resolution, better battery life and quad processors. If HTC comes with a 4.3 ultrapixel camera, Samsung will have a 13MP camera.
HTC will let its users choose the network on their phone- AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. All these measures may see a change in HTC’s fortunes.
