Lets talk about specifications on the Huawei Honor 3, it has a 4.7-inch 720p IPS screen, 1.5GHz quad-core K3V2 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with microSD card for expansion, WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, LTE, Android 4.2.2 with Emotion UI 1.6 on top.
The Huawei Honor 3 also has a 13MP camera on the back and 1.3MP camera on the front and a 2230mAh battery, quite generous on a smartphone with a 720p screen, this should give about 10 hours of battery life. The smartphone is also water and dust proof, to the same IP57 standard the Xperia Z hit.
This is not a flagship competitor and unlike the Ascend P6, currently one of the thinnest smartphones on the planet, it has not real killer feature. It is simply another cheap device from Huawei with impressive internals and an awful user interface.
Speaking of the user interface, the Emotion UI 1.6 is one of the worst we have seen on Android it is clear Huawei has a long way to go on software development, the same with many Asian smartphone manufacturers. Obviously launchers and ROM’s can fix this problem, but the experience for those who do not know what launches and ROMs are will be less than ideal.
The price for the Huawei Honor 3 comes to about $300 in China, where it will be launched. It is unlikely the phone will arrive in the US, with Huawei staying clear of the saturated market after a few years of failing to get any traction. The Honor 3 may appear in Europe sometime in the near future, we have seen interest from European buyers.
