huawei mediapad x1 phablet

The Chinese mobile manufacturers Huawei showed their new gadget in Barcelona, Spain at the Mobile World Congress, the Oscars of mobile tech. The new Huawei MediaPad X1 is a 7 inch HD phablet that is meant to be an alternative to Kindle Fire HDX from Amazon or the popular Nexus 7. Is it better than these 2 ones? Not really. But it’s still a very capable mobile device. Huawei MediaPad X1 has front and back HD cameras, works on more than one operating systems and presumably it also has a good battery life. Sounds promising.

The phablet has a 7 inch LTS display with 1200×1920 323 ppi resolution. The viewing angles of the display are 178 degree, supporting 10 touch point at the same time. It plays a 1080p HD movies at 30 frames per second and it features a Glove Mode that allows the users to handle the touchscreen wearing gloves.

Huawei MediaPad X1 phablet features

It comes with a 5mp f/2.2 front camera and a 13mp f/2.4 back camera. You can expand the 16GB up to 32GB of internal storage. The SOC is HiSilicon Kirin 910 with a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor Cortex a9 CPU and also the Mali 450 mp4 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Both the FD-LTE and the TD-LTE are supported which means that you can have 4G speeds as well. You can use the Huawei MediaPad X1 phone-tablet on its own Android 4.2 or the Emotion UI 2.0 system. The battery life lasts for about five movies if you watch them online, 15 hours if you’re surfing the net and between the charges you get 125 hours of audio play back. A cool thing about this phablet is that it has a function called Reverse Charging which means that if you have another smartphone that needs some battery life you can get some from the Huawei MediaPad X1. The phablet also has noise reduction microphone that’s built-in, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity. Its measures are 183.5×103.9×7.18 mm, weighing only 239g.

The Huawei MediaPad X1 phablet costs around 399 euro and will be available starting next month.
