It is that time of the year when leading tech manufacturers from all over the world come to Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in order to unveil their latest technologies and products to the world. The event, spanning across the first week of September, is set to open in Berlin. This year, the spotlight belongs to smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Thousands of people will be going to German’s capital to be present at the event, while other millions will be following the stages of the event on the internet and media publications.
There are not many official announcements yet. However, plenty of rumors and leaks have surfaced.
Samsung will be probably present their latest Galaxy Note phablet, even though it has been launched already earlier this year. In the past few years, the company have launched a vast array of devices at IFA. Last year for example, besides the Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6, they had shown teasers of their brand new smartwatch.
Rumor has it that Samsung will be introducing a new series of smartphones currently under development. Samsung is also expected to introduce the new Galaxy O smartphone series, that are specifically designed to reinforce Oculus’ virtual reality experience.
Microsoft will be soon launching their long awaited Windows 10 Mobile along with their brand new Lumia smartphone. The two products are to be unveiled for the first time at Microsoft’s grand event the next month. But the company might reveal some other interesting devices such as their Surface Pro 4 tablet and Band 2 smartwatch at the festival in Berlin.
From LG we expect the launch of the second generation of Nexus 5 smartphones alongside the official integration of the new Android Marshmallow. It is also not unrealistic to make the assumption that LG will make an entrance with a new smartwatch at the festival.
With the new Xperia Z5 leaking a couple of days ago, the company is expected to introduce the first smartphone ever to feature a 4K display at the IFA 2015 Berlin, in tandem with a more compact version of the device. The sophisticated hi-tech phone will be featured in the new James Bond movie.
As with BlackBerry, the company is planning to get itself noticed with its smartphones comeback. BlackBerry Venice will be a 5.4 inch display device powered by 3GB RAM and a Snapdragon 808, it shall run Android and will feature a full QWERTY slider. The impressive smartphone will also be equipped with a 18MP camera.
