Apple CarPlay was unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show and it was very well received. Already, three car manufacturers have integrated it into their vehicles: Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari and Volvo. It is a smart and safe way to use your iPhone in the car. It send the things you want to do with your phone to your car’s display: you can make phone calls, send and receive messages, get directions and listen to music, all while staying safe on the road. The iOS 7.1 update integrates support for CarPlay, so you can use your car and iPhone at the same time, safely and without a hitch.
iOS 7.1 Update – New Features
Aside from CarPlay, the iOS 7.1 update brings you a new way of interacting with Siri. You can now physically control how long Siri hears you out by holding down the Home button while you speak and then releasing it when you are done. Before the update, Siri listened until you stopped talking, which could have been at times, inconvenient.
You can also set your camera to take amazing photos, by automatically enabling HDR on your iPhone 5s and also see your events in the new Month view. The overall look and feel of iOS 7 is updated and the interface is better than ever with new in-call buttons and lock screen icons.
iTunes Radio allows you to create stations with a single search and the update also fixes a recurring bug which caused the home screen to crash and forcing your iPhone to reboot.
