A lot of people were surprised when Apple announced the iPad 4 in October 2012. There was a prediction though that the iPad 5 was going to be released early in 2013. But soon the release date was postponed and rumors had it releasing sometime in the middle of 2013.
The latest rumor as of 22nd February is that the iPad 5 is going to first be seen in September 2013.
One of the main reasons the release dates keep getting postponed may be because of a shortage of touch sensors. The main supplier of these sensors, Nishha, is supposed to be increasing their production capacity but it doesn’t seem to be enough for both the iPad mini and the iPad 5.
There was a kind of sign a new iPad was on the way though. Whenever retailers start to drop prices on existing products it usually is because they want to clear out old stocks to make space for something new.
It is believed that Apple is going to include the GF DITO technology in the iPad 5 touch screens. This technology is already being used in the mini and has helped make it 53 percent lighter and 23 percent thinner. It is also rumored that the new iPads will have an aspect ratio of 16:9. This would be great for people that want to watch movies on their iPad. It might not help while using the iPad 5 in portrait mode though. We have also heard that the iPad 5 is going to have a vibration mode and will come with an 8 MP camera. There is one more, less believable, rumor that it will even have a stylus.
Not much is available on this gadget as of now and our only option is to wait and see what the iPad 5 is going to be like.
