A few months ago, at the beginning of this year, Jeff Kaplan, the game director of Overwatch, explained that this game is unlikely to be released for Nintendo Switch. Now, after a while since that announcement, Kaplan stated that Blizzard is forced to revise the game’s performance to have it run in a proper way on Nintendo’s new hybrid console.
Kaplan does not exclude the possibility of introducing Overwatch on Nintendo Switch
Kaplan claimed that they had already established their min spec in a certain way and now they would have to reexamine the performance of the game and how Overwatch should get on the Nintendo Switch platform. Moreover, Kaplan argued that it is difficult to support this game on three different platforms, such as PS4, PC, and Xbox One. Signing it up for the fourth one it would be even more challenging and could not be done right away.
Blizzard needs more time reanalyze the game’s performance before doing anything. Jeff Kaplan also declared himself happy regarding his team and the way they have all collaborated to patch the game on all platforms at about the same time. Even if it may be difficult to bring the game to a fourth platform, it might be profitable. However, Kaplan started saying that Nintendo Switch is no longer seen as a complete refusal, but as an opened possibility for Overwatch, sometime in the future.
The game director stated that it would be very difficult for them to launch the game on the fourth platform right away
He explained that even if they are not on the Nintendo Switch platform right now, it does not mean that they will not consider implementing the game’s fourth platform sometime. They remain open to any possibility. In some other news from Blizzard regarding Overwatch, they are teasing something related to the game on April 11, but there is no certainty. Gamers should pay attention and watch the news to make sure they will not miss out the fourth platform’s release.
Up to this point, Overwatch was commercially and critically successful on all three platforms. All this success brought them more fans and, thus, everyone began to wonder when developers will launch it for the fourth one. Nevertheless, the Nintendo Switch is known to be the least powerful of all the platforms. This is why ‘s hard for Blizzard to port the game over.
On April 11, the King’s Row Uprising event will take place. Gamers know that the King’s Row Uprising established a record seven years ago. Then, the teaser reveals an Overwatch comic book named Uprising. Would players be interested in Overwatch comic books?
