Lenovo is a great hardware solution for professionals, maybe the best alternative to Apple’s Mac. The software works flawlessly, the mobile workstations are very business oriented and they offer all the capacities that could define a high quality device. The new ThinkPad P series are aimed at high end professionals who need giant amounts of compute on the go.
Lenovo launches two extremely performant laptops, namely the P50, which is a 15.6 inch workstation, which could be defined as a follow-up to the W541. The second alternative is P70, which features a 17.3 inch display. Both devices are designed to pack some serious specs under their hoods, starting with the processor.
A new processor from Intel will offer a great performance grade to both workstations. This is going to be the first official mobile version of their Xeon line. The v5 version will be based on the newly released Skylake architecture which brings completely new technology to end users. Lenovo will also offer the new P series with no less than 64GB for DDR4 memory, arranged in 4SODIMM slots.
Both platforms will feature NVIDIA Quadro GPU’s and will come with X-Rite Pantone color calibration.
The Intel Xeon E3-1500M v5 will be released along with an 64GB DDR4 RAM, Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1, PCle, SSD performance and a Quadro GPU supplied by Nvidia.
Lenovo has a lot of performance to offer to all the workaholics around the world who are constantly on the go and need giant amounts of storage for their data. As far as we know, the ThinkPad P50 is the lighter of the two models awaited for release and Lenovo declared it is actually the thinnest model they have released for professionals. The P50 is envisioned with a 15.6 inch 4K display and the P70 has a 17 inch screen. The Xeon processors are the ideal choice for engineers and designers altogether and thanks to the MIL-SPEC test, they can handle the rough wear and the tear-on-the-go wear as well.
Color calibration is flawlessly envisioned, there will be no less than 1TB of storage for all your bulk and important files. The P50 will retail at $1,599 while the P70 will cost $1,999 starting with the end of this year.
