The latest LG flagship, the G3 has been a remarkable success. The stunning screen is the most convincing spec. With it, LG opened raised the bar for all other smartphone manufacturers. Now most users expect a 1440 X 2560 pixel resolution displays from any future flagship smartphone. To be fair, the difference between a Full HD display and a QHD one is really hard to notice. Nevertheless, raw specs tend to have a strong influence over shopping decisions.
LG L Bello and L Fino are the latest smartphone released by the Korean producer. Some of their characteristics seemed to be trickled down from the G3 flagship. Firstly, the LG L Bello has a couple of design features reminding us of G3. Both smartphones come with back buttons and L Bello’s plastic back has a texture similar to that of G3.
Yesterday ZTE launched a slightly upgraded version of its Nubia 5S Mini version, which will cost $280. We expect the LG smartphones announced today to come cheaper, considering the spec differences.
LG l Bello and L Fino come with Android KitKat and low res displays
Judging by the specs, they are lower range devices. LG L Bello is the more performant one, with a quad core 1.3 GHz processor. The device comes with a 5 inches display, but the resolution is surprisingly poor. A 5 inches display with 855 X 480 resolution results in a PPI count of only 196. The human eye tends to observe pixilation on displays with a PPI lower than 300. The device sports both rear and front cameras. The rear 8 MP camera has the autofocus option, while the front camera will only produce 1 MP images.
The L Fino comes with a smaller display of only 4.5 inches. Although L Fino has poorer specs than L Bello, the PPI is a bit bigger at 207, because it has a resolution of 800 X 480. L Fino is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor and relies as well as L Bello on 1 GB of RAM. The rear 8 MP camera does not have the autofocus option and the front camera produces VGA sized images.
Both smartphones run Android KitKat 4.4.2. Because of the 0.5 inches difference in display size, the overall measures of the LG L Bello are 138.2×70.6x 10.7mm, while the L Fino is shorter, but thicker, with dimensions of 127.5×67.9 x 11.9mm. Prices are not available at the moment, but with these watered-down specs, LG will have to offer really tempting offers. PC World estimates that they should not cost more than $200.
