Microsoft is thinking up of strategies to rule the market in 2013. It is looking into making improvements in some of its products.
Microsoft introduced the tablet way back in 2000. Since then, other tablets like the Nexus & and Ipad have become more popular. Microsoft is refraining from bringing out any hardware this year and it will concentrate on improvising the tablet. In addition, its PCs are being outdone by Android and Apple tablets. Microsoft has already launched its Surface RT and is coming out with Surface Pro; which clearly shows it means to take the tablet seriously.
Microsoft is also working on the Office as a part of its marketing strategy. It has started by making its office 365 to woo users with its $100 per year subscription. Students can avail of the university version for $80 for four years. With this subscription, you can use the cloud to store your documents. Office 365 offers Office when you need it.
Both Office 2013 and 365 are made for touch laptops and tablets. In its basic form, it comes with the Surface RT. If you are planning a windows phone, office is available on that operating System also.
Microsoft might offer office for Androids and iOS as a part of its strategy; we will just have to wait and see.
Apart from the office and the tablet Microsoft is eyeing the mobile phone. Since the windows app is still not at par with an Android, Microsoft is going to target this area as well.
Microsoft will have to improve windows and windows 8 apps which have several users. New apps and games can be introduced if Microsoft desires to compete with Android and iOS. Having games like the successful Halo on windows phones can be a good start.
