The Cognitive Toolkit is bound to bring promising useful features. Microsoft announced last week that they have managed to achieve a breakthrough in speech recognition field. This discovery represents a transcription system which matches human beings. Its error rate was estimated at 5.9% in conversational speech. The system is developed on a toolkit already built by Microsoft.
The major update of the toolkit called the Cognitive Toolkit was launched in beta. Without the new updates, this process was called the Computational Network Toolkit (CNTK), and it was licensed by MIT and hosted by GitHub. This revolutionary project is prone to give researchers more details about working with neural networks to built machine learning systems.
These device learning apps are both available for GPUs and CPUs. The new features introduced for the app boosting the competitive character of CNTK with well-known frameworks as TensorFlow from Google. The CNTK had as a goal speech apps. Fortunately, this app evolved and managed to allow its use on other learning devices.
The developers’ team used these abilities to determine search terms. Thus, the new Cognitive Toolkit was designed to work with new algorithms and Python scripting to boost its use to a wide variety of applications. Machine learning systems have increased in numbers, using applications like Skype Translator and Cortana.
The new toolkit did not only prove to be faster than CTNK, but it also surpasses the performance of other learning kits. The Cognitive Toolkit is capable of compressing large amounts of data across a variety of devices. In other words, the new platform has demonstrated that is flexible enough to be used on a laptop, in case you don’t have the chance to connect to a server farm containing NVIDIA GPUs.
The release of the Cognitive Toolkit allows amateurs and developers to use any deep learning app they own like C++ or Phyton. The new app proves the developmental level of Microsoft, competing with other big companies.
They both depend on the techniques of artificial intelligence. Whereas the requests of computational resources for using Cognitive Toolkit are continually rising, Microsoft made available the open source struggling to globalize artificial intelligence. Microsoft intends to reshape these systems transforming them from the level of research papers into practice that will gain real world value.
