Huawei MediaQ M310 are the new devices that may interest you if looking for more powerful Android set-top box and media player. These new devices were displayed at CES 2013 earlier this year. Huawei, the device maker has been making headlines this year with its range of Android smartphones. Now it has an Android TV box, called Huawei MediaQ M310 and this device has been designed to be used with TV and is powered by a quad-core ARM-based processor.
Huawei MediaQ M310 is fitted with Vivante GC4000 graphics and supported by 1GB of RAM. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and 802.11n WiFI. There is also a microSD slot for expansion along with 4 GB of internal flash storage. The devices are expected to launch in the next couple of months and will cost $80 or less.
The device has a customized user interface and runs Google Android software. It will now be easier to use OS on a TV. But this is not a Google TV box and that indicates that one will be able to run most of their Android apps on the MediaQ M310. This is not just software that has been optimized for Google’s TV-explicit platform.
Other features in the new Huawei MediaQ M310media player include 2 x USB 2.0 host ports, 3.5 mm stereo jack and Huawei multi-screen. Equipped with1 x TV tuner and 1 x Ethernet, the Android Media Player seems complete with hard disk drive bays. We get the Vivante GC4000 along with support for 1080p for the graphics side. The box should arrive in the next couple of months.
With the actual prices expected to arrive soon, these could be interesting devices to watch out for. Huawei corporation is based in China and manufactures all kinds of gadgets and electronics such as tablets, smartphones and top-boxes.
