August 23 is going to be a red latter day for those who just can’t wait to lay their hands on the Moto X device. For it is on this date that the device is speculated to see a simultaneous launch via the four major carriers in the US namely Sprint, AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. This marks a significant shift from the earlier speculation that the Moto X will only witness a launch from the Big Red on the above mentioned date. Meanwhile, there also are rumors about AT&T coming up with some exclusive customization options for the Moto X though its likely to be unveiled not before November. But then again, this is something that too remains unconfirmed by both AT&T and Motorola.
So far as general specs of the hand set goes, it might not be top of the line though Google has clearly tried to make the device appealing with some unique features integrated on the software front. For instance, something as simple as a door turning motion with the device is enough to invoke the 10 mp camera. This will come in handy when a quick snap is called for.
Another cool feature with the Moto X is that it is always open to respond to voice commands. Users will just have the initiate their conversation with the smartphone with ‘OK, Google Now’ and the device will know it is being called upon.
The Moto X otherwise is powered by a dual core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chip. The 4.7 inch display unit is based on AMOLED HD technology. The resolution factor though is a bit less at 1280 x 720 pixels. The RAM would be 2 GB while the OS would be Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The battery pack that powers the handset is of 2,200 mAH rating and the camera sported at the rear would be of 10 MP. The front camera would be of 2 MP resolution.
