Remember the iPads, don`t you? It looks like the Silicon Valley tech giant Apple Inc. want to make sure that you will not forget about them again. The iPads looked very exciting when the first generation came out five years ago, and they represented a must have for every politician, journalist, writer, blogger or simply rich man at that time. However, things did not come out so well with the iPads. The rise of the smartphones, which got more and more popular over the years and also bigger as time passed by, arriving at the point where some tech analysts began to call them `phablets` undoubtedly caused a lack of interest in the area of tablets, which, sure, were nice and smooth and they had that bitten apple on the back but still you could get those from an iPhone as well or from another smartphone. Anyways, the Cupertino based company has expressed its intentions to revive the iPad numerous times, and it seems like the time for iPad`s resurrection has finally come. According to some analysts in connection to this matter, the new giant iPad could come out in October this year.
One of the historic rivals of Apple Inc., the American tech giant Microsoft achieved success with its series of hybrids, gadgets that could be used both as a tablet and a laptop. The Surface Pro 3 by Microsoft is a great example of a tablet that still has popularity and brings revenue to the company, and many analysts reckon that Apple Inc. do not only wish to change the situation on the tech market, but also to launch a tablet that should be at least as big as the Surface Pro 3, which measures a 12-inch diagonal.
Rhoda Alexander, a tech analyst representing IHS Technology has stated that the new giant iPad is expected to contribute to the so called `iPad refresh`. She added that this would probably happen in October this year.
“Our sources are still indicating this is a 2015 product, slated to go into production mid-to-late third quarter,”
Rhoda Alexander wrote in an e-mail. For this prediction, she used some information from the Asian sources that provide components to Apple Inc.
The panel of the new giant iPad is expected to be 12.9 inches, which is more than the size of Microsoft`s Surface Pro 3. According to the sources cited by Alexander, the new iPad could feature a 2,560 x 1,920 resolution.
