The iPhone 5S is already a thin smartphone, at 7.6 millimetres it is one of the thinnest smartphones out there, although the Huawei Ascend P6 holds the title for the thinnest at just over 6 millimetres.
According to reports, the iPhone 6 will trump this at just under 6 millimetres and become the worlds thinnest smartphone, a title Apple loves to keep at the launch of their newest flagship, but it won’t be the thinnest according to the sources who have apparently got a look at the phone.
It is nice to see Apple trimming the edges off their smartphone and this looks to be a new redesign of the smartphone. We liked the two tone design Apple added to the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S, but with the larger display they may be thinking of a new type of look to the iPhone.
Apart from the changes to the size and design of the iPhone 6, it is likely we will see an improved A8 chipset. We wonder if Apple will make this one faster than the current A7 chip, even with 64bit architecture, it lags behind in terms of raw GHz speed against the Snapdragon 805.
On the software side, Apple may be adding a few new apps and features onto iOS7. Siri has not had that much success compared to Google Now, perhaps we will see more real life integration with Siri and something new on mobile payments.
Apple has already reported huge sales on the iPhone 5S, surpassing 20 million since its launch worldwide. The S model always seems to outplay the next number, but the iPhone 6 already has a huge amount of hype and with the two different sizes it may play to Apple’s favor.
