New Microsoft Smartwatch
Being a cross-platform smartwatch means that the device will be compatible with gadgets running not only Windows Phone, but also Android and iOS. A very intelligent move on Microsoft’s part, we think.
Multiple sources have revealed that the new Microsoft smartwatch will have sensors that will measure the wearer’s heart rate at all times. Making the smartwatch to work with iPhones and Android smartphones makes the new Microsoft smartwatch a very popular choice already.
The heart rate sensor is where Microsoft will be putting all of its money. The new Microsoft smartwatch is apparently aimed at fitness enthusiast. More rumors are saying that the smartwatch’s battery will be similar with Samsung’s Gear Fit, meaning that it would last up to two days on a single charge.
Rumor has it that the thing that would set the new Microsoft smartwatch apart from other smartwatches would be that the fitness tracker will track the heart rates non-stop. You won’t need to switch it on by yourself, it will do that for you.
The new Microsoft smartwatch’s heart rate monitor will borrow the technology from Kinect, the motion sensing device Microsoft has in its Xbox 360 and Xbox One game consoles. Could this mean spoken commands and cool gestures? We sure hope so!
New Microsoft Smartwatch – a Cross-Platform Device
Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella unveiled in April some products that were compatible with Apple’s iPad. He also mentioned in a conference this week that he believes that Microsoft devices should work on all devices and that it was time for us to build the next thing.
Does this mean that Microsoft is getting ready for something new and big with the launch of the new Microsoft smartwatch? We believe they are. A cross-platform device benefits everyone: the manufacturing company, the users and the carriers. It’s a win-win situation!
