The next gen tablet war is likely to get fierce between Google Nexus 7 2, Apple iPad Mini 2, and Amazon’s new Kindle Fire HD. Predictably, the price of Kindle Fire HD has been reduced by Amazon, indirectly suggesting that a new revamped model is in the making.
In addition to this, a new online report is indicating that iPad Mini 2 is not likely to arrive this year, probably giving the new Nexus 7 2 tablet from Google a chance to excel. However, irrespective of the competition between these three, each of them will undoubtedly be as popular as their precursors, given the fact that all these tablets will most likely meet the consumer needs even though they vary quite a bit.
Kindle Fire HD Prices Slashed!
Amazon has slashed the price of the 7-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet PC by $30. On a broader perspective, though this price cut is supposed to be in line with Barnes and Nobles’ price cut on its Nook HD tablet, we do believe that the price slash is also indicating a new refreshed model launch shortly.
However, there is no report or rumors to support this claim as of now. In the first quarter, Amazon had also cut the price of the larger Kindle Fire HD 8.9 to $269 from its original price of $299, so this could just be a marketing strategy.
When you see Amazon’s approach on its Kindle Fire HD, it is also important to remember that this price slash could be amidst the rumor that Google will introduce a new Nexus 7 2 tablet computer this year. The display of this new tablet is believed to sport a 1080p display with an improvement in PPI when compared to its precursor. New features like a 5MP camera at rear, 4G LTE data speeds, and a faster processor that seems like Snapdragon 600 quad-core from Qualcomm will also be a part of this mean machine!
Apple’s iPad Mini 2 Launch Delayed
If reports are to be believed, there is likely to be a delay in the release date of Apple’s iPad Mini 2, possibly due to reasons associated with the bump-up in its specs, including the retina display. However, due to problems with the tablet thickness and battery life not being on Apple’s standards, the delay is supposed to be inevitable. Apart from the new retina display, the new tablet is also likely to incorporate a faster processor.
So, with all these three new tablet PCs arriving in 2013, which one would be your choice? Do drop in your comments, and let us know!
