Today’s leak comes from Evleaks and shows the vast color range the Nokia Normandy will have available, including yellow, green, blue, white, black and red. This is typical Nokia fashion to add a full palette of color to their smartphone backs, coming in the rubber polycarbonate material.
Apart from the different colors and design, we also have got another look at the home-screen UI for the Nokia Normandy. It looks like a custom skin from Nokia will be developed on top of Android, looking similar to Windows Phone.
The home-screen may be fully developed similar to Windows Phone, instead of having the home-screen with widgets and then the app draw, the Nokia Normandy will offer all the apps and “tiles” in one area and the user can continuously scroll down to find their app.
We are not sure how Nokia would achieve this while still working on the Android framework, to Google’s specifications. Most Android skins follow a certain aesthetic, although Samsung and HTC have both added their own custom features into the OS.
Rumored specs on the Nokia Normandy are nothing to write home about, but fit the low-end market. These include a Snapdragon 200 processor, four-inch display and 5MP rear camera. Luckily, Nokia will ship the smartphone out with Android KitKat 4.4.1 on board, the latest version of Android.
It is likely we will see Nokia reveal the Normandy project at Mobile World Congress next month, if this does not happen, we believe Nokia will hold an event in London to announce Nokia Normandy, alongside a slew of other devices for Windows Phone.
