The two iPhone colors, gold and granite, are two dummy units sent from China to iCrackUriDevice, a YouTube channel currently releasing all the leaks on Apple. The latest video shows the iPhone 5S granite color alongside the gold variant.
As we expected, Apple is making the colours subtle, the gold looks more like watered-down champagne and the granite is more light-grey than hard stony slab. If we had of seen bling gold and hard grey granite, we do not think Apple fans would be that happy.
This move by Apple to make the iPhone line more colorful may be perfectly timed, with HTC, Samsung and Motorola starting to dabble in colors. Especially the latter with the Moto X, with 36 different back options, not even including different coats of wood.
There may be more colors hidden away in the woodwork, we know the iPhone Color (iPhone 5C) will be coming with five different colour variations: blue, green, pink, white and yellow. The glossy finish on the iPhone Color makes the colors more eye-catching.
Apple is preparing to launch both iPhones at their event on September 10. According to new rumors, Apple will also launch a new iPod range and either release iOS7 Golden Master or make it available to everyone.
It seems unlike Apple to launch the iOS7 update to the public before the launch of the new iPhones. In previous years, Apple has left the launch for a week or two, allowing developers to get ready for the update and give new iPhone buyers a few days with the new update, before others grab it.
However, with the recent drop in the stock, Apple may want to do something drastic to show investors they still have the pull of the market. By releasing an iPhone and iOS7 at the event for pre-order and download, it may make people surge to buy the new phone after watching the event.
