Amid plenteous rumors that LG will manufacture the new Nexus 5 phone, AndroidAndMe has a new story saying that “LG Megalodon” is likely to be the Nexus 5. The story is based on leaked pictures of the Megalodon. Drawing on rumors from other sources, idigitaltimes talks about the launch of the new Nexus 8 tablet alongside Nexus 5.
The rumored LG Megalodon features a 5.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 16MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera. Those hardware details seem enough to guess that it will be a high-priced device. Other features include 3GB RAM, 16/32/64GB internal storage options, 2.3GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 3,300mAh battery. It will likely be the first device to run on Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie version. The rumored Nexus 8 tablet is expected to come with an 8-inch screen and upgraded hardware, including the facility to make phone calls.
Korean website Daum.net recently reported that LG is already testing a prototype of the next Nexus phone. While LG Mobile’s Vice President Won Kim made mention of the marketing success of Nexus 4, he also hinted at the production problems that LG and Google had to face. An LG spokesperson said that Won Kim’s statements do not mean that LG will reject an opportunity to work on Nexus 5.
The Nexus 5 missed the 2013 Google I/O and Computex events, but anticipations of its release still persist. So far, the next version of Nexus 4 has just been a white color variant released in May end. If LG happens to decline the opportunity to make Nexus 5, there is a fair chance that Motorola will do it. The next in line is probably Samsung, the dominant player in the Android market. Perhaps, LG’s official word will come soon to reveal the truth.
