Until today, all we have had to check out the new Nokia Lumia 1520 (previously Bandit) is a few snapshots and some rumored specs. Now evleaks has released a press image on the phablet phone running a larger version of Windows Phone 8.
This press image shows the Nokia Lumia 1520 with the same design we have come to know and love from Nokia. The rubber polycarbonate back is a signature in the Lumia range and we are sure it will look great with a 6-inch screen on the front.
On the front the ability to add a lot more tiles is available, taking advantage of the larger screen. Windows Phone 8 normally has a few rows and can make tiles one of three sizes, Nokia will still only allow three sizes, but more tiles can be fitted onto a row.
Nokia will not add the 41MP camera to the Lumia 1520, instead opting for a still impressive 20/22MP camera. Sources are not quite sure and there was a rumble on Twitter, underneath evleks reveal, saying it could be a 2oMP or 22MP camera.
The Lumia branding will stay and the design has not changed, this may be the last device to stick with Nokia’s old recipe. Microsoft CEO did say they would start to look at better naming for Lumia devices, without the complex numbers.
Nokia could be challenged for its hardware design, with recent news some of the old Nokia team are getting together to form Newkia, a new smartphone company that will deliver the same quality hardware with the Android platform.
