There are rumors of new Lumia smartphone appearing on Verizon Wireless’ store shelves. And this is supposed to be the most awaited descendant to the current Lumia 920. The highly rumored device Lumia 928 has been creating a buzz for quite some time now.
The display of Lumia 928 still looks familiar with 1,280 by 768 pixel resolution. And this could be quite disappointing considering the fact that Nokia’s competitors such as Sony and HTC, have introduced smartphones with 1080p displays. Perhaps one of the reasons why Lumia 928 carries a panel with such resolution is that Windows Phone 8 display panels up to 1,280 by 768 pixels.
According to rumors, Lumia 928 may actually be the ‘Laser’ smartphone everyone is a buzz with. You might find same PureView imaging technology that is present in PureView 808.
Lumia 928 surfaces on Verizon’s database some where in January this year. Although an official launch date is still to be announced. One can expect other smartphone manufacturers introducing high-end smartphones in the nest future. We might see Lumia 928 making an appearance sooner than we think.
Thus it is clear that Verizon is adding one more variant to its Nokia Lumia stable. Verizon Wireless will soon start selling Nokia Lumia 920 version that is an AT&T exclusive in the US. However, there is till very little evidence as to what to expect to the carrier’s Windows Phone line.
There are suggestions that this is going to be very much like the Big Red’s supposed variation of the Lumia 920. Verizon would certainly want some kind of upgrading and if the 928 is factual, we’re left speculating whether or not it will arrive soon enough.
The arrival of the new variant would mean what it would have 4 Windows Phone 8-based smartphones for sale, as against three from T-Mobile and 3 for AT&T. Mobile plans to add Nokia Lumia 521 later this year.
