Keeping in mind that the timeless design of the iPhone deserves a case that showcases its
sublime look,California-based mod-3 has introduced RADIUS,a new case for the iPhone 5.
The specialty of the case is its remarkable ultra-minimalistic profile, featuring an “X”-shaped
frame and corner modules.
Designed to go with the black or white models of the iPhone 5,the new RADIUS comes in magnificent color schemes. The “X”-frame comes in slate and silver, while the corner modules come in polished aluminum, slate, red and cyan.
The new case is completely different from the conventional iPhone case,in the sense that it has such a slim profile that it hardly extends beyond the volume and sleep buttons on the sides. The “X” –like frame is crafted from aircraft grade aluminum, and the entire case has a light weight of just 4.4 grams compared to a typical aluminum case that weighs 20-25 grams. The frame and the four corner bumpers are connected with stainless steel screws.Additional screws and an Allen wrench come with each case.
The corner modules accurately grip the bezel of the phone, providing a secure grip. The case does not hinder the cellular or Wi-Fi reception, meaning that there is no signal loss.Despite being ultra-light and slim, the case protects the phone against falls and impacts.
Without compromising the looks of the iPhone 5, the form fitting design of the new case provides ready access to the ports, and features an enlarged camera hole to prevent flash glares.A scratch-resistant coating augments the durability of the case.
The attractive case has enabled mod-3 to achieve its funding goal via the RADIUS Kickstarter campaign which ended recently, raising about $56,000,over double the original target of $25,000.The innovatively designed case is set to release in March 2013.
