The Galaxy Grand 2 is an all-round improvement on the previous device, it is still a mid-range device but comes with a quad-core processor instead of the dual-core on the original. The Galaxy Grand 2 has a 5.25-inch 720p display and 8MP rear sensor, alongside 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
Storage is expandable via a microSD card and the 2400mAh battery can be replaced, Samsung is sticking with the cheap plastic removable back and shell-design, similar to all the Galaxy series. The phone has Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 and WiFi a/b/g/n, but no LTE surprisingly.
On the software side, Samsung has pre-installed Android 4.3 with their custom TouchWiz UI skin. Samsung has not detailed if and when the Android 4.4 KitKat update will be available, the extra battery and power advantages on the new OS update, we would hope the Galaxy Grand 2 gets an update before late 2014.
Samsung has not announced pricing for the Galaxy Grand 2, but we expect it to come at the same price as the previous model. It is expected to come to Asia, Europe and possibly the US further down the line. Colors will be pretty plain, white for everyone and black and pink for some select regions.
