That Samsung is into hectic preparation to launch the next gen Galaxy Note 3 is all too well known. That it’s coming in the second half of the year is also almost a surety. Also, with the hype surrounding the smartphone or phablet (whichever way you look at it) already aiming for the sky, it should come as least surprising the sheer amount of rumors and speculations surrounding the device which are reaching frenzied proportions. Interestingly, many of the rumors do seem quite reasonable while some seems to come out straight out of a sci-fi film.
Take for instance the case of the phablet that many claimed will come with a flexible display. The technology has already been showcased by Samsung at this year’s CES event. However, showcasing a technological breakthrough is one thing while integrating it successfully into a product for a commercial release is an entirely different ball game. It’s no wonder then that chances are overwhelmingly in favor of the Galaxy Note 3 coming with a more conventional display than something as futuristic as a flexible display. And it’s a Super AMOLED display that analysts believe will end up on the final thing and not a LCD screen as the latter allowed for a better S Pen experience.
Other rumors concerning the Note 3 claim the device will be provided with another dose of size enhancement as was seen on the previous two iterations of the Galaxy Note. As such, heady rumors on this claim it’s a 6 inch display that the Note 3 will come equipped with, which will make it the first smartphone from Samsung to feature a 6 inch display.
LG too had showcased flexible displays at various tech events which were followed by rumors of it making it to its flagship devices. That none of that materialized is all too well known.
