One of the much awaited beasts to be out of its jungle was the Samsung Galaxy S4, which was released by the Korean giant in late April. Its launch date was quite delayed than it was rumored to be, specifically due to high pre-order rates that led Samsung take ample time to cope with increasing demand of audience with its supplies. Galaxy S4 seems to have satisfied its customers grandly and its sales seem not to slow down. The latest of US carriers to carry this gadget was Verizon. But just as the beast is out, geeks are busy investigating rumors on the upcoming phablet of Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. This phablet is being rumored to possess more advanced specs than the Galaxy S4.
Release
Rumored unveiling date of Galax Note 3 is early September this year at Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin. Galaxy S4 was announced in March, 2013 and was supposed to launch by late March or early April, but it appeared in the market at the second half of April, although pre-ordering was facilitated much earlier to that.
Design
The Galaxy S4 design was quite satisfactory. Like former flagships of Samsung, S4 was prepared with durable plastic and was encased with an attractive slim metal-like band. However, reportedly, Samsung is considering three prototype designs for its upcoming Note 3. One of these considered patterns may be strikingly similar to that of S4, whilst rumors also point that Samsung might be experimenting with metal chassis and flexible touch screen this time.
Display
Galaxy S4 weighs 4.59 oz. It possesses a slim and uniform metal-like casing that makes it more attractive. The beast features Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen display, 16 M colors on a 5 inches display of 1080*1920 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 441 ppi. Its display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Galaxy Note 3 is being rumored to possess a super AMOLED capacitive HD touch screen display of 5.99 inches. Note 3 may be similar to S4 in its diamond pixel structure. Samsung is currently working on its OLED display, so it is likely that the Note 3 will be powered by an OLED display screen.
Camera
Camera specs of Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 3 are being considered as similar to each other. S4 possesses a 13 MP camera of 4128*3096 pixels resolution featuring autofocus and LED flash. The camera allots dual shot, touch focus, smile and face detection, HD image and video recording, geo-tagging, HDR and image stabilization. Galaxy Note 3 is also rumored to possess a 13 MP camera with similar specs to that of S4.
Memory
Galaxy S4 has been released in three different models with 64, 32 and 16 GB internal storage capacity. Each of this possesses a microUSD card slot and extendable memory capacity of up to 64 GB. Galaxy S4 features a 2GB RAM. However, rumors surrounding Note 3 says that the beast will feature extended internal memory capacity and 3GB RAM.
Processor
Galaxy Note 3 is likely to feature an Exynos 5 Octa-core processor, 8 core graphics under MALI 450 GPU. The 5 octa possesses a next generation quad core 2.0 GHz ARM 28 nm Cortex A-15 processor. S4 possesses quad-core Cortex A-15 processor operating at 1.6 GHz. So, likely the Note 3 will be upgraded from 2GB RAM and tri-core PowerVR SGX 544 GPU of S4.
Operating System
Galaxy S4 runs on Android Jelly Bean v4.2.2 but Note 3 is supposed to run on an upgraded version of Android Jelly Bean v4.3. The Note 3 is likely to feature Touch Wiz Nature UX 2.0 as well.
Price
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is being distributed at different on and off-contract prices by various US carriers. The price ranges from $199.99-$250. However, retailers like Walmart and Amazon have initiated a drop-down in its price. The S4 is available at an off-contract price of $650. It is a bit difficult to estimate the price of Samsung’s upcoming flagship, the Galaxy Note 3. The price of this beast is likely to be around $700.
Samsung has not announced anything officially on its Galaxy Note 3. There is a hot gossip going round the Samsung Galaxy Mega, which is supposed to hit the shelves by late May and early June. Galaxy Mega would be available in two different dimensions, 5.8 inches and 6.3 inches. This is a new Galaxy series by Samsung. The 6.3 inches phablet is supposed to hit the shelves by June 17, whereas the tinier one will already be present in the market by 27th May.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 may surprise customers with its specs. Samsung has specifically managed to stay notches above rumors regarding its to-be-released flagships and is expected to abide by the same performance tactic with the third generation Galaxy Note. The most interesting fact associated with Galaxy Note 3 is that the beast will bring along a new series of specs, not only upgrades but an absolute innovative range of specifications, which may then be followed on by Samsung in some of its future flagships.
