Lately, there are two Galaxy S4 models that have come to the fore, one that is powered by a Snapdragon 600 chip and another by an Exynos 5 Octa chip. Naturally, curiosity around the two is shooting through the roof as all are eager to know how the two differs, more on the key parameters of performance and so on.

Samsung-Galaxy-S4

To begin with, while both the S4 variants have impressed reviewers and come out on top in benchmark tests, it’s the Exynos powered device that seems to enjoy an edge on its Snapdragon powered counterpart. That said, what also can be stated is that the aforementioned edge is too meager to cry anything home about. But then, there does exist subtle differences among the two Galaxy S4 variants powered by two different chips. For instance, while both S4 variants support LTE technology, it’s the S4 powered by the Snapdragon chip that officially supports LTE in the US.

This apart, while the CPU and GPU on both the devices are different, the same goes for a number of other components as well. These include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS as well as the FM radio among others which are different for the two though the most notable differences among the two S4 include an additional Fujitsu image processor that is fitted on the version sold in the US. The image processor is used to take care of such tasks that rely on eye tracking technology. This is included in the version that is based on the Snapdragon 600 chip and is sold in the US.

In comparison, the Galaxy S4 powered by the Exynos Octa 5 chip is found to be capable of taking on these tasks of its own and does not require the use of extra dedicated processors to get along with specialized tasks. In any case, reviewers have stated the eye tracking never really have been found to work on the Snapdragon 600 powered device. It though remains to be seen is the same applies to the Exynos powered Galaxy S4 as well.
