Samsung Smart Home: From Showcase, to Showroom, to Your House

If you are a tech passionate following the trends and the special events that take place in the world, you probably know that Samsung, besides working hard to provide us with all the smartphones, tablets and wearables we need and wish for, is also very preoccupied with turning mankind into a tech – savvy, smart, connected and secure species. So if you paid attention to Samsung’s showcase during the Consumer Electronics Show in January this year, you surely remember the system allowing us to connect every device and appliance we own with more than just an app.

What is the Samsung Smart Home and when is it going to be available?

Well, you will have to wait a bit more to turn your house in a true Samsung Smart Home – to answer the second question – because even if the Android app allows you so far to connect, manage and control a wide area of devices, you can’t set your microwave oven to cook dinner for you a half an hour before you arrive home from work with the help of your Android Samsung smartphone. To answer the first question, Samsung Smart Home is a system that will be eventually able to allow you total control not only over the smart TV and the smart tablet, but also the refrigerator, the washing machine and the smart oven, provided you buy them too. Because the app will connect only compatible devices. So if you want your house to turn into a Samsung showroom, this year you can put your hands over Samsung’s line of smart fridges and washing machines, the upcoming compatible Smart TVs, the ovens and the smart light bulbs we’ll have on the market before the end of 2014.

The Samsung Smart Home starts its global ruling from South Korea and the U.S. and will soon take over the world, as the company’s goal was revealed by the president and head of the Media Solutions Center, Dr. Won-Pyo Hong:

We also have grand plans to enhance more and more parts of the home experience, especially with a view of expanding it to areas with high-growth potential such as home safety and energy management.
